Stop using our taxes to fund global heating.
I want the government to stop its support for the fossil fuel industry and to cease paying public money to those companies who are contributing to the destruction of our planet.
The UK leads the European Union in giving subsidies to fossil fuels, according to a 2019 report from the European commission. It found €12bn (£10.5bn) a year in support for fossil fuels in the UK, significantly more than the €8.3bn spent on renewable energy. This needs to stop.
