All infrastructure projects be tested against the Net Zero Emissions 2050 Law

Petition Details

Ensure that all current and future infrastructure projects as part of Budget 2020 and beyond are rigorously tested against the Net Zero Emissions 2050 law. Sustainable and low carbon projects should then be prioritised including renewable energy and mass public transit.

Additional Information

The evidence that we are in the midst of a global climate emergency is obvious, the science is obvious. But more than that we can see the impact of climate change every day from floods, to bush fires, Greenland and Antarctica ice melting faster than ever, to the decline in biodiversity. This is not a drill, we need real leadership and we need it now.

This government speaks about the people's priorities and surely the biggest priority for everyone is a planet that is safe to live on.
