Provide 75% of the national minimum wage for anyone affected by Covid-19.
Anyone affected by Covid-19 should be given a living allowance of 75% of the national minimum wage. Anyone whose income was affected should be able to apply for this allowance.

- self-isolated by order or voluntarily
- lost their job
- forced to take unpaid leave
The benefits system and the SSP are not fit for purpose. They were not designed for such a disaster. Many are being made redundant, asked to take unpaid leave & many tens of thousands will become ill. Government must provide a safety net. SSP from day 1 isn't making a difference. If businesses know that they can keep their staff instead of making them redundant, we'll see many bouncing back after. It also means people are not left without financial support at a time when services are closed.
