Petition Action

Continue testing individuals for Covid-19 who have symptoms

Petition Details

Continue testing symptomatic individuals for Covid -19 especially with the emphasis that has been placed on ‘data’ and ‘figures’. If these aren’t accurate- how can we plan appropriately?

Additional Information

In order to ensure that accurate
data is being released. To establish how many people as possible are infected in order to produce reliable and honest transparency to the British public and to inform the World Health Organisation of the true impact on our society. how can data and planning be accurate without people also being tested in the community? Having a family member tested , it was important to my workplace, and to vulnerable and at risk family and friends that we knew the result.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. The conduct of tests is a clinical decision for the NHS, not the UK Government or Parliament.

We have published a petition calling for the Government to provide publicly accessible testing for coronavirus around the UK, which you might want to sign: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/301354
