Allow parents to remove children from school to home school during COVID-19
To allow a temporary amendment to the rules regarding school attendance & reporting. We believe parents should be able to make decisions regarding their children’s health & wellbeing during these exceptional circumstances. There is major concern, especially those with pre-existing medical conditions
This would allow parents to temporarily opt for home schooling without the requirement to de-register the child from school, and without initiating unauthorised absence and the usual associated penalties.
This action would minimise individual risk during the height of the pandemic, reduce the predicted peak overload on the NHS and allow parents to make decisions based on their child and that individual child's health conditions (e.g. asthma, which the WHO state increases risk of complications).
