Petition Action

Financially support low income families when Coronavirus closes schools.

Petition Details

I am requesting reassurance from the Government that children who have free school meals as well as those from low income families won’t be left at risk of hunger when schools are closed due to the Coronavirus. Immediate, emergency action is required to feed these children.

Additional Information

Families on low incomes will need immediate financial support once their school is told to close.
Direct cash grants from the Government, will allow carers to buy food for their children immediately.
The Government cannot allow children to go hungry whilst their carers have to make lengthy phone calls, complete inaccessible forms or travel miles to justify who they are.Schools already have the necessary information.
Children are our future, look after them, do not let them go hungry.
