Petition Action

Parliamentary debate on the course of UK action in relation to COVID19

Petition Details

Parliamentary debate with OTHER prominent scientific views on the course of UK action in relation to COVID19.

Additional Information

Current UK Government action is to create herd immunity to COVID 19 through mass infection (at least 60% population required). This is against WHO recommendations and all other countries, including China and Italy, have not achieved 1% infection. Herd immunity is normally acheived through implementation of vaccines.
The current strategy is being imposed on the nation without an open assessment of other strategies in an undemocratic manner; and affects whether people live or die.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We understand that you want Parliament to debate the UK Government's response to the coronavirus outbreak, but this is already happening.

Several parliamentary Committees, including the Petitions Committee, are looking at coronavirus, and there are regular statements and questions where Ministers are questioned about the Government's response.
