FCO Coronavirus advisory for countries that have closed borders to UK.
People are impacted when they cannot go ahead with travel plans due to the country they are visiting closing their borders to UK travellers.
People are not able to get refunds from the carriers they booked with and insurance companies are not required to accept a claim to get these costs back.
Issue an FCO advisory regarding countries that cannot be visited by UK travellers due to Coronavirus restrictions set by the government of those countries and keep this updated as events unfold so that people who have travel plans booked are protected from losing their money.
Insurance companies and travel carriers only refund or pay out a claim if an FCO advisory is in place.
The pandemic is expected to escalate and this will impact people when their pay could already be less with isolation.
