UK must test all those with COVID-19 symptoms.
The UK government has stopped COVID-19 testing outside hospitals except those who have been to a high risk country, or with confirmed contact with a positive case. This risks missing many cases and goes against WHO guidance.
Community transmission is happening within the country, therefore it is a dangerous approach to refuse to test the broader community.
Those with symptoms are unable to confirm, and let their contacts know that they are at risk and to also isolate. We need widespread testing now in line with WHO advice and other countries who have contained the virus successfully.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. The conduct of tests is a clinical decision for the NHS, not the UK Government or Parliament.
We have published a petition calling for the Governemnt to provide publicly accessible testing for coronavirus around the UK, which you might want to sign: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/301354
