COVID19: No Layoffs of permanent employees until Carona Virus pandemic is over
Until Carona Virus global pandemic is over and normalcy regained any company over the staff size of 100 people
-Should not be allowed to layoff/make employees redundant during the pandemic and for 6 months after pandemic ends
-Employees should be paid in full and be supported fully by employers
This pandemic is a once in generation global crisis for humanity
Economy, money, business, finance, etc are by the people, of the people, for the people
In good times businesses make millions and billions from the societies they thrive on, so in bad times they should support the employees and the society when they are fighting hard for their survival
It is inhumane and immoral for any company to layoff permanent staff during a global crisis instead of supporting the people they thrive on

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Decisions about ending the employment of individual workers is a matter for employers, not the Government or Parliament.
Since you started your petition the Government has announced measures to support businesses retain staff, including the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme which will reimburse businesses for 80% of employee wages, up to £2,500 a month: www.gov.uk/government/publications/guidance-to-employers-and-businesses-about-covid-19/covid-19-support-for-businesses#support-for-businesses-through-the-coronavirus-job-retention-scheme
We have also started a petition calling on the Government to ensure employees are paid their full wage if they can't work due to coronavirus, which you might like to sign: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/301652
