Do not discriminate against the over 70 s by forcing isolation.
This is a very bad idea and we should be allowed to choose for ourselves.
It treats us as outcasts . Some of us run a business. Most of us went through the post war deprivation and the Cold War. We are not snowflakes.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The Government has not enforced self-isolation in a different way based on age.
On 16 March, when the Government advised people to avoid unnecessary contact, it said that this advice was particularly important for people over 70, for pregnant women and for those with some health conditions, but the advice was not enforced: www.gov.uk/government/speeches/pm-statement-on-coronavirus-16-march-2020
On 23 March the Government issued new advice saying that people should stay at home except for some limited exceptions. The current advice makes no distinction based on age: www.gov.uk/government/publications/full-guidance-on-staying-at-home-and-away-from-others/full-guidance-on-staying-at-home-and-away-from-others
