Force supermarkets to create over 60s shopping mornings during corona pandemic
Provide a safe environment for the over 60s to shop during the coronavirus pandemic and ensure they are given the chance to buy before the panic buyers clear the shelves each day.
It is heartbreaking to see the elderly with empty trolleys staring at empty shelves but being helpless to do anything. It is not enough for the supermarkets to write up customers and ask them not to o panic buy.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The opening arrangements for supermarkets are a matter for individual retailers, not the Government or Parliament. A number of retailers have announced plans to open early for elderly or vulnerable customers. You should contact your local supermarket to find out if they have put such arrangements in place.
The Government has made certain changes to enable supermarkets to work together during the coronavirus outbreak, particularly to serve customers who are elderly, ill or vulnerable: www.gov.uk/government/news/supermarkets-to-join-forces-to-feed-the-nation
