Force online media outlets to remove pay walls for coronavirus articles
Do not allow the British media outlets to place articles relating to coronavirus behind a pay wall. All information surrounding this epidemic should be available to everyone without costs.
People use smart phones for their news more than any other form. Placing inportant information behind pay walls restricts peoples access and is effectively putting profits before the health and lives of people.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The Government can't instruct the media to remove paywalls in respect of certain content. You could start a petition asking for the Government to work with the media to encourage them to do this, or to pass legislation preventing media outlets from putting certain content behind paywalls.
