Pharmacy companies to allow pharmacists to use protective equipment for COVID-19
The Government should oblige pharmacy companies to allow pharmacists and pharmacy staff to wear surgical masks, protective gloves and take measures according to their discretion to prevent contraction of COVID-19.
The pandemic has been declared and the death toll is rising every hour. Pharmacists are on the first line protecting patients, while keeping them reassured and calm. They need to protect themselves in order to protect others.
Most European countries have sent measures for pharmacists to serve patients from a hatch or 2m distance, wearing protective gear. UK Government has set to send out the protective equipment, but companies do not allow pharmacists to wear them for patients not to panic.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The Royal Pharmaceutical Society has produced guidance for pharmacists on protecting pharmacy teams, but decisions about operations at individual pharmacies are a matter for those pharmacies.
Guidance for reducing the risk of infecting from confirmed or possible coronavirus (COVID-19) infection is being developed by Public Health England, and decisions about medical advice are a matter for medical professionals and the NHS.
