Up the limit on Card "Touch" payments to £100 to fight the spread of Covid-19
As a temporary, measure card touch payments should be increased to allow people, especially the elderly and vulnerable to make larger purchases without having to touch the keypad.
The passing of money and the use of keypads to make purchases could help transmit Covid-19. Increasing the amount allowed for touch payments could help slow down the spread of the virus. It would be a good idea to encourage people to use "touch" instead of cash or using the touchpads.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The Government does not set the limit for contactless card payments. This is a matter for individual banks and card providers, not the Government or Parliament.
You could start a petition calling on the Government to encourage bank and card providers to increase the limit for contactless card payments in order to limit the need for people to use cash or touch card payment machines.
