Guarantee a Real Living Wage of £330 a week for all isolating due to Covid-19.
We are calling on the government to follow the actions of the Republic of Ireland in guaranteeing a proper level of sick pay for those self isolating with coronavirus symtoms, to extend this to the self employed, and those unable to work due to future "lock down" or social isolating measures.
Guaranteeing a stable level of income will help reduce spread of the virus - people won't feel forced to work due to financial pressures, which will reduce pressures on the NHS and other public services.
It will keep a roof over people's heads, allow them to buy food and other essentials, keep the lights and heat on and keep the economy ticking over.
