minimum wage for young people
There are currently four different minimum wages which are dependent on age; under 16, 16 years and over, 18 years and over and 21 years and over.
There are also five different rates of jobseeker's allowance dependent on age and furthermore, exclusion of under 25s from working tax credits.
I therefore call on this Government to put a stop to the exploitation of young workers by employers who pay different rates for different ages, and put a halt to age discrimination of young people who cannot find work and require welfare.
In 2012 discrimination should be a thing of the past, lets make it so.
