Petition Action

Enforce laws that protect workers taking time off whilst self-isolating

Petition Details

Enforce a law that means employers can't take into account sick leave made whilst self-isolating and they pay full sick pay. This period of sick leave should not be marked as an absence whilst coronavirus is present and be paid at full sick pay.

Additional Information

At present many businesses are marking self-isolation down alongside sick leave already taken. This means employees are at risk of being fired, being paid less than full sick pay, or no company sick pay. For this reason many employees will not self-isolate as recommended further putting people's heath at risk unless the Government protects their job and/or sick leave.
