Petition Action

Ensure vulnerable people on prepay energy meters have power during isolation

Petition Details

We are asking the Government to work with energy companies to ensure that during isolation vulnerable people with prepay energy meters will still have power at home without needing to put themselves at risk going out to buy electricity credit

Additional Information

The members of society who are being told to self isolate also cover a lot of the people on the lowest incomes who don't have credit ratings and therefore have to use top up cards to pay for electricty and gas. If they are unable to safely go out and top up these cards they will be left without power for up to 12 weeks further risking their health.
