Freeze banks in the event of COVID-19 lockdown
Implement a bank freeze in the event of a lockdown amid the COVID-19 outbreak within the UK to protect independent business owners livelihoods
If a lockdown were to be implemented, small and medium sized independent businesses will be at high risk of collapse/financial downfall and may not be able to pick back up again. This could cause a severe problem economically and force many small business owners to fold and have to sell up.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We understand that you want the Government to protect independent businesses, but we're not sure exactly what action you want the Government to take to achieve this.
We have published a petition calling on the Government to encourage banks to suspend interest, fees and repayments during COVID-19 crisis, which you might like to sign: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/305297
