Reintroduce hefty War Time jail sentences for Profiteering
Profiteering is a pejorative term for the act of making a profit by methods considered unethical, such as raising prices during an emergency.
This is happening across the UK in corner shops, garages and members of the public buying in bulk only to list the items online at vastly inflated prices.
The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) recently urged suppliers to act responsibly and said that it was monitoring pricing practices amid shortages and yet it continues. Offenders need to be arrested, imprisoned and their assets stripped as proceeds of crime under emergency powers act.
