Petition to not reschedule exams to autumn

Petition Details

Pushing back exams into autumn will cause severe distribution to the school system and student life. A levels are having an impact on students mental health and longing out the process of it can cause more damage than good. We should at least be able to do the exams online if the worst will happen.

Additional Information

We are not the most affected demographic and the most vulnerable could potentially do examinations in a safe place. Delaying the process of exams won’t make a significant change to the spreading of covid-19. There should be an online system put in place of examinations if we go on lockdown.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Decisions about exams are a matter for exam boards and individual schools, not the UK Government or Parliament. You can read the decision made by exam boards on what will happen to exams here:

If you want the Government to review the decision to use previous data to calculate exam grades, you may wish to sign this petition:

As a result of the large numbers of petitions people have tried to start on this issue, and following a large number of questions it received from petitioners about exams, the Petitions Committee asked the Government about the impact of coronavirus on schools and exams.
