Petition Action

Test ALL suspected cases of COVID-19

Petition Details

Acting responsibly and in the best interests of public heath, the UK Government must test all suspected cases COVID-19.

Additional Information

We need to be able to monitor fully the infection and also recovery rates in the UK to give us a true picture of the spread and progress of this infection in our country. This information is vital to our understanding of COVID-19 at national level and also for the communities and families that this government is here to serve.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. The conduct of tests is a clinical decision for the NHS, not the UK Government or Parliament.

We have published a petition calling for the Government to provide publicly accessible testing for coronavirus around the UK, which you might want to sign: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/301354
