Stop mortgage payments during the coronavirus outbreak. “Mortgage Break”
Stop mortgage payments during the coronavirus outbreak! To include the amount renters pay to their landlord to cover the mortgage. People are not insured, closures haven’t been enforced by government and they aren’t covered. A few countries have enforced this policy and it will reassure the nation.
Government should allow mortgage payment breaks for the country because people are being made redundant, losing work/contracts and the self-employed cannot earn enough money if they have to self isolate. For self isolation to work everyone has to do it. But people who are not paid to be off work will continue to go out and try to earn money to pay their mortgage and feed their families. This would give them peace of mind for their bills and benefit their mental health. SSP isn’t enough to cover.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Suspending payments for rent, council tax, mortgages and utilities is a matter for individual landlords, councils, mortgage providers and utility providers, and not the UK Government or Parliament.
