Suspend all household bills + rent and mortgage payments
With the country all but shut down for the foreseeable future I’m calling on the government to temporarily suspend all essential household bills, including private rentals, mortgages and council tax payments until the country can return to work.
The self employed, smb owners and zero hrs contract workers + many 1000’s of others who will end up losing their jobs as a result of the coronavirus are going to have no income whatsoever in the coming weeks. Defaults on utility bills, mortgage repayments and rents are going to be enormous and destroy hard working peoples credit. The government need to work with the banks, local councils and utility suppliers to suspend all bills and payments until the current situation is resolved.

We can't accept your petition because suspending payments for mortgages, rent and utility bills is a matter for individual lenders, landlords, and utility companies and not the UK Government or Parliament.
