Restart COVID-19 Testing For Any Suspected Cases Regardless of Severity
The government must restart and adequately fund the formal testing for all suspected cases of the COVID-19 outbreak, in accordance with WHO advice. Tests should be available to any who are suspected to have the disease, not just in cases where patients are hospitalised.
Testing of the population, to provide accurate and precise information about the current case numbers of COVID-19 is essential to inform decision making in public health policy and track the spread of the disease. Formal testing of all cases must occur, to allow authorities to better understand the current stage of the outbreak and prevent the SARS-CoV-2 virus from becoming endemic to the UK.
