Tax big companies profiting from Covid-19 to provide support to affected SMEs
Introduce additional taxes for big companies which stand to make extraordinary profits from the Covid-19 crisis (eg large tech giants and online delivery companies) to create funds to support small to medium businesses struggling due to the crisis, especially in more vulnerable sectors

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We understand that you want the Government to increase taxes on some companies to support companies that are financially disadvantaged, but it's not clear exactly what you want the Government to do to achieve this.
You could start a new petition calling on the Government to increase taxes or create a new tax for companies providing particular services, or that have profits over a certain level, to fund fund support for other businesses, if that is what you want to happen.
We have published a petition calling on the Government to increase taxes on high earners to fund emergency Budget measures, which you might like to sign: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/305795
