Close public spaces during COVID19; support for businesses & employees
Make the closure of bars, restaurants, theatres, and other similar venues, legislation in response to the COVID-19 crisis. Consider additional support for small businesses which do not fall in to this category (eg. independently owned shops).
As it currently stands, businesses are being forced to stay open - putting their staff and customers at risk - because many insurance companies won’t provide compensation for those who ‘choose’ to close. Since it is not law for premises such as these to shut during this outbreak, businesses are facing the incredibly tough decision to either close their doors for the sake of safety and risk financial ruin, or to remain open (often losing money as a result) and put countless individuals at risk.
