Petition Action

Reduce fees for additional supplies rented to the NHS in response to a pandemic

Petition Details

Intensified measures in response to COVID-19 include forcing the NHS to rent 8000 beds from private hospitals. The cost has been reported as 2.4 million pounds a day (£300 a day for each bed). In an emergency, rental costs should be reduced so the NHS can cope for the months this will continue.

Additional Information

The Government should use its power to reduce the financial impact on our health service by subsidising the costs that have been forced on the NHS in the face of an emergency.
Financially supporting health services should be the priority in the face of a viral outbreak.
