Covid-19: Universal wage for all affected by government issued closures

Petition Details

Introduce a universal income for all low-income workers need to be supported to prevent further strain on public services in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Additional Information

The closure of entertainment venues, such as theatres, cinemas and music venues aspart of government control measures to stem the spread Covid-19 will cause insurmountable hardship for the people who work in them.
In normal times, many struggle on a minimum or very low wages and often on zero hour or temporary contracts. This is why we are calling on the government to introduce a universal living wage to prevent these workers from financial ruin and destitution due to an ‘act of god’.
