Private hospital beds should be requisitioned during the coronavirus crisis
The UK Government should temporarily requisition resources such as hospital beds from private hospitals during the coronavirus crisis. Private hospitals should not be profiting from this situation.
COVID-19 is the most significant threat to public health the UK has seen for generations. Private hospital beds are a vital resource which will be needed to support the severely under resourced NHS. This should not be an opportunity for private companies to make profits from public money and public suffering. Nor is it something that the public should be paying for for years to come.
