Covid 19: Ensure childcare facilities available for parents who work in the NHS
With school closures being a foreseeable eventuality. This will obviously impact all working parents, but the parents working in the NHS are vital at this time. To prevent loss of staff and to prevent the vulnerable, such as grandparents, providing childcare, alternative provision must be provided
The government should do whatever it can to provide childcare for parents working in the NHS.
Possibly utilise school buildings close to hospitals. The aim would not be to provide education, simply childcare for all age groups.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Schools and all childcare providers are being asked to continue to provide care for a limited number of children, including children whose parents are critical to the Covid-19 response and cannot be safely cared for at home: www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-maintaining-educational-provision/guidance-for-schools-colleges-and-local-authorities-on-maintaining-educational-provision
