Force banks to reduce punitive overdraft interest charges during Covid 19 crisis
Introduce swift legislation that forces banks to charge a reasonable rate of interest on all overdraft facilities during the Covid 19 crisis and for the duration of its aftermath to assist businesses and individuals manage their finances.
With the detrimental impact of the current Covid 19 crisis on both businesses and individuals it seems churlish that the banks should see fit to charge us 49.9% overdraft interest in the case of Lloyds, during this time of uncertainty where everyone’s earnings are suppressed and the bank of England base rate is just 0.25%, possibly to be reduced further in the coming weeks.
