VAT Payments for 2020 to be deferred to April 2021 and July 2021
With the crisis of COVID-19, businesses need practical ways to keep afloat. This means managing cash flow and deferring payments where possible. Most profitable companies pay VAT, and many companies are now seeing a 3 to 12 month crisis. So this practical measure will assist businesses.
Companies have a choice to:
1. Pay as normal.
2. Defer to an annual 2020 payment, which is paid January 30th 2021
3. Defer any VAT payments in 2020 to April and or July 2021

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Since you started your petition the Governmetn has announced that businesses can delay (defer) any VAT payments due between 20 March 2020 and 30 June 2020. If companies choose to defer a VAT payment, they will have until 31 March 2021 to pay it.
We have published a petition calling on the Government to zero VAT during the Coronavirus Crisis., which you might like to sign: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/304245
