Abolish the e-Petition sham
An ePetition calling for a debate on withdrawing the NHS bill reached 160,000 signatories, but has been turned down:
"MPs will not be granted a special debate on the government's controversial health reforms on the floor of the Commons, despite an e-petition calling for them to be scrapped gaining more than 160,000 signatures." [1].
It is thus clear that the e-Petition system is no more than window dressing and a sham, giving the dangerous impression of an improvement in democracy and accountability, when no such improvement exists. This being the case, we call for the e-Petition system to be abolished. The people of Britain should be aware of just how little accountability their MPs have to them, and not be mislead by cheap tricks.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
