Freeze rent/bills during crisis for the unemployed and those facing redundancies
I want the Government to freeze rents and bill payments as there are many people who are currently living in the united kingdom who are facing redundancy due to Covid-19. We need to ensure the basic human needs which is safety and security.
I want the Government to support the people who are residing in the United Kingdom, by freezing rent & bill payments. As with the current Covid-19 it may potentially lead to redundancies which in turn can leave our people without money for rent, bills and food to eat. I believe the Government should support the people as this could in turn lead to more unnecessary homelessness. With businesses already closing, we need to ensure we have the most basic of human rights which is a shelter.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Suspending payments for council tax, mortgages, utilities and loans is a matter for individual councils, mortgage providers, utility providers and lenders, and not the UK Government or Parliament.
If you want the Government to encourage lenders, landlords and utilities to freeze payments during lockdown, you may wish to sign this petition: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/302256
If you want the Government to implement Universal Basic Income to give home and food security during the coronavirus outbreak, you may also wish to sign this petition: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/302284
