Suspend mortgage and rent payments immediately!
Until this crisis has passed, Government must suspend all mortgage and rent payments. With thousands of people temporarily out of work, the continuation of payments will lead to thousands of evictions.
A temporary moratorium on payments will save lives and homes.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Suspending payments for rent, council tax, mortgages and utilities is a matter for individual landlords, councils, mortgage providers and utility providers, and not the UK Government or Parliament.
If you want the Government to encourage lenders, landlords and utilities to freeze payments during lockdown, you may wish to sign this petition: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/302256
