Petition Action

Absolve Student Loans for those at universities affected by Covid-19 outbreak.

Petition Details

Any universities that have had to close, or students having to self isolate should have their student loan for this year written off. This is due to being unable to attend classes, or having less materials to complete their studies. They shouldn't have to pay a loan for teaching they've not had.

Additional Information

With the uncertainty of whether exams are due to take place, or how teaching will follow, many students may not find that they are able to complete this year and their grades may be affected. This could mean they have to retake the year or struggle into their next. The student loan should not be added to their overall debt due to the lack of face to face teaching and resource closures. This should not hang over their heads for the next 30 years.
