Allow 2020 students to resume their studies this time next year
The government should press pause on the education system to allow all students from Primary up to University in every year group to resume their studies this time next year when the Coronavirus should be at it’s minimum, if not resolved.
This idea will give students a much needed break without the stress of exams or being unable to cope with self teaching (as many students will contract the virus themselves or have to deal with family members who have it and perhaps facing unfortunate circumstances, yet are still expected to keep up with lessons and homework, unable to fall behind or else face not knowing the correct knowledge for their next year of education).
Students may take gap years between end of college year 12 and their first year of university, so is it not also possible to allow this for the students of 2020 under these exceptional circumstances?
Plus what about Proms and Leavers celebrations?

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Decisions about ongoing arrangements for education are a matter for individual educational institutions and local authorities, not the Government or Parliament.
The Government has published guidance about the implications of the closure of schools: www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-school-closures/guidance-for-schools-about-temporarily-closing
Individual schools are responsible for implementing this guidance, and arrangements for university students are a matter for individual universities.
