Students 2020 A-Level and GCSE predicted grades shouldn't be their exam result

Petition Details

I want the Government and Parliament to debate this issue raised by so many students. A large majority of predicted grades are inaccurate and students future should not be limited through false predicted grades rather allow students to acheive their full potential.

Additional Information

I want the Government and Parliament to debate this issue as even statistics go to provide us valid data that 16% of applicants were correctly predicted and a further 8.5% were under-predicted with the vast majority of applicants being over-predicted. I want the Government to not only to see this from a students perspective - the obstacles disadvantaged students are facing through being under-represented in schools, but also a way to modernise the predicted grading system and allow universities to produce a representative and more accurate examination results rather than students being hindered by the system.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Decisions about exams are a matter for exam boards and individual schools, not the UK Government or Parliament. You can read the decision made by exam boards on what will happen to exams here:

If you want the Government to review the decision to use previous data to calculate exam grades, you may wish to sign this petition:

As a result of the large numbers of petitions people have tried to start on this issue, and following a large number of questions it received from petitioners about exams, the Petitions Committee asked the Government about the impact of coronavirus on schools and exams.
