As a matter of urgency, inform Year 11 & 13 students the plan for 2020 exams
Current Year 11 and 13 students have worked hard toward their GCSE and A level exams which should have started in May. I understand the the need for social isolation and the measures the government has taken, but announcing that exams will be suspended without a plan for what this means is unfair
I notice on the AQA website (19/03/20) that they will be working over the coming months to make sure that students will get the qualifications they need. This is not nearly soon enough. Students are now in limbo. My own daughter suspects that tomorrow (19/03/20) could potentially be her last day in school ever. Obviously, where there is a vacuum of information, rumour and supposition will creep in, resulting in an impact on the Mental Health of a cohort of our children and young people.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Decisions about exams are a matter for exam boards and individual schools, not the UK Government or Parliament. You can read the decision made by exam boards on what will happen to exams here:

If you want the Government to review the decision to use previous data to calculate exam grades, you may wish to sign this petition:

As a result of the large numbers of petitions people have tried to start on this issue, and following a large number of questions it received from petitioners about exams, the Petitions Committee asked the Government about the impact of coronavirus on schools and exams.
