Reinstate public examinations this year for year 11 and year 13 students
Yesterday it was announced that all public examinations this year will be cancelled due to the coronavirus. I would like these changes to be reversed to allow these hard-working students, many of whom have prepared for a long time, to take these highly important and life changing examinations.
Students in year 11 and 13 are very upset following the government's announcement yesterday that schools are closed indefinitely. The novel coronavirus has a minimal impact on young people and cancelling exams in favour of predicted grades is likely to do much more harm than good. I am not saying that schools should re-open for all students, just for public examinations as for many students this is the most important time of their life right now. Our futures are in jeopardy. Thank you.
