Review Statutory Sick Pay For Employees

Petition Details

The current level of sick pay is unacceptable. COVID-19 has not only impacted our health, our social life and now our finances.

In the these unprecedented times, we must support people who have to take time off to self isolate but more importantly support people who cannot work.

Additional Information

Especially teachers and support staff who won’t be able to work indefinitely due to school closures. The government must take responsibility to support people as £94.25 a week is not enough to sustain livelihoods. Stress of bills and affording needs would have a great impact on mental health. Consequently, causing serious issues and disruptions when schools reopen. SSP should be at EU standards, paying minimum of 70% of wages rather than a measly standard rate.
