Do not use mock exams as a way to determine students final GCSE/A-Level grades
A-Level/GCSE students may have underperformed in previous mock examinations and they are not a true indicator of our real capability within the exams. An alternative solution such as UCAS predicted grades/an efficient examination to determine our outcome or an unbiased system is needed at this time.
As an A-Level student who is now dealing with the cancellation of A-Level exams, the stigma around how our grades will be decided is worrying a lot of us. This is mainly due to the fact that mock examinations are an inefficient way to determine final grades, as we may have improved since doing so. There is no one way to appeal to all students at this time, however, all students can be in consensus that mock examinations are a weak way to determine grades and we would all like clarification.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Decisions about exams are a matter for exam boards and individual schools, not the UK Government or Parliament. You can read the decision made by exam boards on what will happen to exams here:

If you want the Government to review the decision to use previous data to calculate exam grades, you may wish to sign this petition:

As a result of the large numbers of petitions people have tried to start on this issue, and following a large number of questions it received from petitioners about exams, the Petitions Committee asked the Government about the impact of coronavirus on schools and exams.
