Current year 10 should get predicted GCSE grades

Petition Details

Due to the Covid-19 the current exams (GCSEs and A-Level) have been cancelled, and each pupil has been given their predicted grade. year 10 students who are due to take their exams next year, have had an unfair disadvantage. missing months off school could truly affect their grade too.

Additional Information

Due to this unfair disadvantage for missing up to 4 months of learning from school, I believe that the current year 10s should also get their predicted grade, BTECH students also missing out on up to 4 months of course work leading up to their GCSE exams, could also affect their grade greatly, I believe this situation is affecting both GCSE years, and both years should have a fair chance for fighting for their future career.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Decisions about exams are a matter for exam boards and individual schools, not the UK Government or Parliament. You can read the decision made by exam boards on what will happen to exams here:

If you want the Government to review the decision to use previous data to calculate exam grades, you may wish to sign this petition:

As a result of the large numbers of petitions people have tried to start on this issue, and following a large number of questions it received from petitioners about exams, the Petitions Committee asked the Government about the impact of coronavirus on schools and exams.
