Drop VAT bill for business during COVID-19 outbreak
There are several proposals to help businesses by offering grants, loans, etc but there is a condition on all of them. A simple across the board drop the next VAT payment is a simple but effective way of putting funds into most businesses to keep them solvent during this outbreak.
One of the major issues for the next few months is going to be paying the wages. They make up a large part of almost every companies outgoings. Companies also have a responsibility in law to pay VAT, it is easier to get rid of employees than it is to not pay VAT.
Take away that responsibility and there is an immediate fund, approximately appropriate in size to the business to pay the wages.
