Ensure all children of Key Workers are provided with a school place.
Many Key Workers are being informed by schools that both parents have to be classed as Key Workers to qualify for a school place.
We request Parliament ensures that any identified Key Worker's children are offered a school place to maximise the Key Worker workforce at this critical time.
It is imperative that Key Members of the workforce are supported to continue to work during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Some schools have sought to only implement a school place if both parents are identified as Key Workers. This action is not representative of the intention of Government Policy to provide a school place to children of Key Workers and could impact the availability of Key Worker Parents who wish to support the country at this critical time in the fight against Covid-19.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The guidance issued to schools on maintaining educational provision does not specify that both parents must be key workers, but that if it is at all possible for children to be at home, then they must be. If a key worker cannot keep their child safe at home then their children will be prioritised for education provision.
