Petition Action

Exams have been cancelled this year and i believe they should still be sat.

Petition Details

I believe unless they are sat fairness can never be achieved. People miss this chance to develop skills and experience for the future of their education. I believe having Year 11's and 13's go into secondary schools with teachers with them to sit the exams is the best way to still fix this crisis.

Additional Information

I believe what needs to happen is secure environments be created where the students sitting exams can do so with them being assessed and safe from the threat of Corona with everyone supporting them. The current way they wish to do it i believe is just impossible to be seen as fair even though the circumstances does make it somewhat understandable but these years of education they have been through can be questioned and the work they are set over the down period is pointless for them to do.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Decisions about exams are a matter for exam boards and individual schools, not the UK Government or Parliament. You can read the decision made by exam boards on what will happen to exams here:
www.gov.uk/government/news/further-details-on-exams-and-grades-announced

If you want the Government to review the decision to use previous data to calculate exam grades, you may wish to sign this petition:

As a result of the large numbers of petitions people have tried to start on this issue, and following a large number of questions it received from petitioners about exams, the Petitions Committee asked the Government about the impact of coronavirus on schools and exams.
