Mandate real action for NHS placement students on the frontline of Covid-19
There are 1000's of students working to fight Covid-19 in our NHS. these students are not paid to be on placement in fact, they are still paying fees to universities.
Students are not currently supernumerary, which impacts placement learning, and achievement of placement tasks.
ALL Students who are working in the NHS during Covid-19 should be paid an appropriate wage Under agenda for change
Student parents should be defined as key workers, allowing them to access schools for child care.
Students that chose not to continue working should be allowed to complete their placement hours when the crisis is over at no additional cost to them.
These will mean that the NHS retains the help it needs and students are not being made to chose between a degree and loved ones.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Student placements are a matter for the educational institutions the student is enrolled in, the organisation sponsoring the placement, and the regulatory bodies that are responsible for the qualifications, not the Government or Parliament.
If you have concerns about continuing with a placement you should raise these with the educational institution you are enrolled in, the organisation sponsoring your placement, and the relevant regulatory body.
