Extend Brexit Period for 6 Months to Ensure Preparedness due to Covid.
To delay the transition / negotiations for at least 6 months to ensure negotiations are afforded full consideration. The Covid Crisis brings many issues to the forefront of concern, particularly around cooperation. This petition is not to prevent Brexit, rather it is to ensure it happens correctly.
The current Covid Crisis means that our elected members focus, civil servants and wider media coverage and energy is being rightly focused upon it. This does present a risk to our future relationships with the EU and with this others. The petition's intention is not to stifle Brexit. We must make sure that our ongoing position and relationship with Europe is negotiated in a manner that it can be afforded the right scrutiny, across parliament and to enable the public reaction to be incorporated.
